6.In the box labeled "Select Boat To Display, click on "Duo" (which is the two-engine vessel) to access Reports

7. In the "Select Report Type" box click on "Trip Log".
8.Click on the box labeled "Select a Trip ID". This will open a drop-down menu where you can select the trip number you want to view. You also have the option of Selecting a Report date range you wish to view by entering a from and to date.
Example: From 02/01/2009 To 02/28/2009 will display all data for February 2009

9. Select a trip number or date range and click on "View Report". (in order to view a date range the trip ID box must read "None Selected")

10. Click on "Open" to view the report selected or "Save" to save the report to you local computer.

11. The selected trips data is displayed. The trip log gives you data collected each and every 5 minutes during the trip.

12. The following information will be displayed on a Trip Log:
- Trip #
- Date
- Time
- Fuel Burn Rate (FBR) for each engine
- Fuel burned during the five-minute period (Periodic Total Fuel)
- Total fuel burned thus far during the trip (Trip Fuel)
- RPM of each engine
- Speed over ground
- Distance traveled
- Gallons burned per nautical mile (Gals/NM)
Trip Analysis-
1. In the "Select Report Type" box click on "Trip Analysis". You will have the same options to select a 'Trip ID" or a "Report Date Range" as in the Trip Log.
2.Select the trip number or the date range you want to analyze and click "View Report". The MICAD System analyzes the selected data and gives you the following information.

8. The example shown above is for trip #1
9. It includes 1 trip - Highlighted in Yellow
10.It shows the miles traveled - Highlighted in Blue
11. It shows the gallons of fuel burned - Highlighted in Red
12. It shows the average trip time and the total time of all the trips in the selected date range - Highlighted in Green
13. Miles, Gallons, Avg Time and Total Time are shown in a "Total" column, a "Ramp" column, and a "Cruise" column. The Ramp and Cruise columns show which part of the "Total" data occurred during a "Ramp" phase and which part occurred during a "Cruise" phase of the trip.
Vessel Operations Analysis -
An example "Trip Analysis" report is shown below. It reports that the vessel ran at an average engine speed of 820 RPM during the selected dates. You can tell this by looking at the "% of Gallons Saved" column. The row with 0% average gallons saved corresponds with the average RPM for the trip# or date range selected.

This analysis shows what effect lowering the RPM would have on the vessel's operation. If the vessel were to drop its RPM to 750 from 820 it would lose .76 knots in speed (9.53 minus 8.77 in the SOG column) and increase the cruise time by 3:43 hours (from the "Change in Cruise Hrs" column). It would also save 1,844 gallons of fuel (from the "Gallons Saved" column). That is a savings of 19% ("% of Gallons Saved" column)!
